IT'S SO EASY!!! VINYL TILE FLOORING INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

1.SURFACE PREPARATION:

First thing you want to make sure that the
existing floor must be clean, smooth and level. The surface must be free of any
dirt, moisture, dust, grease, and waxes. Fill any and all cracks and holes with
a suitable latex crack filler. I listed some more instructions based off of and
depending on the type of floor surface you may have:

CEMENT FLOORING: Now if the cement is painted make sure the paint is dry. You shouldn't

use vinyl tiles on untreated cement.

WOOD FLOORING: All the planks must be securely nailed to the surface. Glance over and check the nails heads; Countersink any nail heads.

RESILIENT / VINYL FLOORING: Do not install vinyl tiles over cushioned vinyl rubber flooring. You will have problems in the long run. If you have this type of flooring you must either
remove it or at least cover it up with plywood.

Additional advice: DO NOT INSTALL vinyl floor tiles over andtype of floor where the temperature is excessively hot (e.g. radiant heated floors) or cold, over particle board, or where moisture may be a problem outdoors.

Before we more to step #2 and installing your new vinyl floor
tiles, store them at a room temperature for at least 24 hours to get acclimated
with your rooms overall temperature.

2.WHERE TO START:

Find the center on the room by snapping a chalk like from the center points of opposite walls. The center of the room will be where the chalk lines then intersect with each other. I marked a illustration below:

3. INSTALLING THE TILES:

Now we are ready for create a beautiful flooring for your home. Before installing any of the tiles inspect each tile for any defect. I mean installing the tiles constitutes acceptance. Take a look at the backside of the tile; Whenever tiles are marked with directional arrows on the back, install them so that all arrows point in the same direction. Starting at the center point, install the tiles as shown below (I posted a picture to help you, see directly above). Peel off the protective paper and carefully set the tile into placeand press down firmly.

Just in case the backside is dry, follow the instructions on any
adhesive container carefully. You do not want to slide the tiles once you have
placed them down as it is very difficult to move them without damaging the
tiles.

4. CUTTING: (see images 3 & 4)

Now no floor is going to be perfect. You will
have those hard to reach corners or shapes like curves or triangles that you
will need to cut and shape your vinyl floor tile. The tiles may be cut with a
utility knife. To fit a partial tile, lay the tile to cut exactly over the last
full tile, another full tile against the wall and make the cutting line where
the tiles overlap. IMPORTANT: DO NOT CUT ON THE FLOOR AS THE BLADE MAY CUT
THROUGH AND DAMAGE THE NEW TILES. Before peeling the backing paper, check that
cut tile fits correctly. You should not have to force the tile into place.

Slide the tile under molding and trim whenever needed. For your safety the protective layer on the backside of vinyl floor tiles are typically very slippery. For your safety, dispose of it immediately after you peel it off.

Now you are all set with your brand new looking floor!

Congratulations and I hope you enjoy the job well done you did!!! Over time like
any floor or anything you may own, maintaining it will keep the look and feel
fresh and pristine. My last step for you all is the overall "Maintenance"; We will talk more about that on our next blog.

See you back soon!
